‘Ohana

OhanaLets start with my favorite, ‘Ohana. Imagine the warmth of an orange and blue sunset, the glow of burning embers of oak from a grill over the worlds largest indoor firepit. ‘Ohana Feast will transport you to an island far, far away.

polyohana‘Ohana is one of the most popular places to eat in Disney World so when you are staying at the Polynesian you have easy access to a fun evening with great food. Everything is served family-style (all you can eat brought to your table). The center of the ‘Ohana Feast is an 18 foot semi-circular firepit, where you can watch your food being grilled.

IMG0988There is entertainment torugh out the evening and fun for the kids. They play Hawaiian music and have coconut races or hula lessons. You are surrounded by tikis and Hawaiian decore as well as the spirit of the islands. The room is surrounded by windows that overlook the Polynesian resort ohana01thand even have a view of the castle. If you are there at the right time you can watch the fireworks from your seat.

ohanaview_op_600x800Explore food that you have never dared before. ‘Ohana’s family-style restaurant features appetizers, fresh grilled meats, vegetables, delightful salads and desserts. Children can get a special menu that includes chicken nuggets, mac & cheese, grilled cheese, pb&j, hamburger or cheese burger. Kids under 3 eat free. ‘Ohana is open for dinner from 5:00 p.m. P1010011to 10:00 p.m.

If you are having a special occasion than make sure you let them know or if you want to make it extra special then order a cake and decorations at an additional charge. Also if you have special dietary needs let them know ahead of time. Since ‘Ohana is so popular you will need to make reservations before your visit.

IMG2089The word ‘Ohana became popular in 2002 when the movie Lilo and Stitch came out. Now they join you at ‘Ohana for the Character breakfast. This is a more traditional American breakfast with a Hawaiian twist and it is family style also. Along with your eggs and bacon you will have Hawaiian pork sausage, island style potatoes and some other taste from the islands. The Character breakfast is from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
