The Grand opening of the Polynesian Resort had a luau on the beach with entertainers from many of the Pacific islands. Later Luau Cove was created and housed the Polynesian’s Luau show. What use to be the Polynesian Luau has become The Spirit of Aloha. You can enjoy great flavors of the Pacific and watch a fun and entertaining show.
The show is about two hours long and features an island feast, unlimited beverages (including beer, wine or you can purchase a special tropical lava drink) and a Polynesian themed dessert, served
family-style. Click here to see menu. The show will give you a taste of true Polynesia with an added story and a little bit of Lilo and Stitch. The dinner show is at 5:15 p.m. and at 8:00 p.m, Tuesday – Saturday. You will walk over to Luau Cove for the show.
I usually like to go to the earlier show especially with kids. The later show can run late. Also if you are visiting the Polynesian resort to go to the show you will have time to catch the fireworks from the beach after.
The show seems to get mixed reviews and having been to authentic Hawaiian luaus I enjoy the show and the food. I also have observed the people aroundme and so far have not heard people complain about the food or entertainment. Most people ask for more food and they will bring you all you want.
