Sometimes magical encounters with Cast Members happen randomly at the Polynesian. I have been told a lot of stories of Cast Members sharing the aloha spirit with people as they enter the lobby of the resort. They take the time to greet them and talk to them for a minute or two. Often people share their story of why they are at the resort. Sometimes it is for a birthday, anniversary or maybe just a vacation. Sometimes people are just checking out the resort or eating at ‘Ohana or Kona Cafe. More than once I have seen weddings at the Polynesian. Here is a story sent to me by Carye Gonzalez about her and her husband’s experience while going through the Great Ceremonial House to take wedding photos at the resort.
My husband and I went to the poly to take pictures on our wedding day a couple years ago. On our way in, our photographer grabbed a couple of the fake leis to take with us for pictures. Aunty Kau’i was busy when we arrived, but she saw us, so she quickly went to work on a pair of fresh leis and stopped us when we were on our way out to give them to us. They dried beautifully and I still have them on display in our home as they are a great memory from our special day.
