Many people were not happy to see that the Dole Whip dispencer was no longer inside Captain Cook’s when it reopened. For many of you who have been reading my reports since last year you knew that the Dole Whips were going to have their own location. On Friday, August 29, 2014 The Pineapple Lanai opened just outside the back of the Great Ceremonial House. Now you can once again get your Dole desserts at the Polynesian Village Resort.
During the renovations to the back side of the lobby they took down the walls to the old Wyland gallery (Use to be the location for a gift shop called News From Polynesia) and put in an outdoor seating area and walk up window to order Dole Whips. While it is not the most decorative location at the resort, it makes for a nice outside seating area that is covered incase one of Florida’s famous afternoon rain showers comes through. Being close to Captain Cook’s will make this a good location to bring your food outside since the outdoor patio for Captain Cook’s is now gone.
The offerings at the Pineapple Lanai are:
Dole Whip Soft Serve (Pineapple or Vanilla) $3.99 Served in a souvenir Tiki Bowl $8.79
Dole Whip Soft Serve Pineapple Swirled with Vanilla $3.99 Served in a Souvenir Tiki Bowl $8.79
Pineapple Float (Vanilla or Pineapple with Pineapple Juice) $4.99
Bottled Water $2.50
Hours of operation are from Noon to an hour after fireworks.
