Neverland Club closed
Originally the Neverland Club was going to close early January and open on April 1. This was from an official communication that was sent out months ago. A few days ago some official Disney sources said the schedule was updated and their information now shows the Neverland closing on January 28th and not reopening for the remainder of 2014. There is always a possibility that it will reopen earlier but that is the latest information from Disney. Also, as reported before the Neverland club will reopen as a new theme. I have not been told it will be a Lilo and Stitch theme but I was told it will be a Hawaiian theme. There is speculation that it will be more like Aunty’s Beach House at Aulani and not Lilo and Stitch. As much as I like Stitch I think more like Aunty’s Beach House would be better. Hopefully they will do like they did before and offer a temporary child care location in Tangaroa Terrace but no announcement has been made about that. There is also Kid’s Night out babysitting available (407-828-0920).
Monorail limited hours
Starting January 21 the monorail to the Magic Kingdom (both Resort and Express) will be unavailable from 11:30 AM to 7:00 PM on weekdays. The monorail to Epcot is not affected and will run normal hours. This is for maintenance and not because of any construction at the Polynesian. For better stroller or wheelchair access from the Polynesian to the Magic Kingdom I suggest using the large ferry over to the park entrance. The smaller motor launch (boat) will not accommodate wheelchairs or strollers not folded up. During these events they usually put additional and larger boats in service to the Polynesian boat dock and additional busses will be available.
Recipes
I know there is a lot of upset people because of all the construction that will be going on and the monorail limited hours but let’s end the year on a happier note. I collected up all the recipes I could find that have to do with the Polynesian Resort and a few thrown in from Trader Sam’s. I figured the Trader Sam’s recipes seemed appropriate because they were tropical and Trader Sam’s will be coming to the Polynesian. Besides my favorite Tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki rum recipe I added the special holiday recipes Trader Sam’s is now serving so head over to my site, listen to the Hawaiian Christmas music and make some drinks or food from the recipes page. http://www.tikimanpages.com/poly/polynesian-recipes
Give away
For all those who have donated to my site using my PayPal button at the bottom of my page I wanted to say thank you and I have some things to give back. I will take all the names out of my PayPal on New Years Eve and draw two names on New Years Day from Trader Sam’s in Disneyland. One person will get the latest edition of Steve Barrett’s Hidden Mickeys book and the other will get one of my Tiki mugs from Trader Sam’s.
I will post the names of who won on Facebook and send an email to the address that was used in the PayPal donation.
